Withdrawing money from betPawa Uganda uses Mobile Money. The available methods are MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money. Withdrawals must be requested by the registered account holder and sent to a payment method held in the same person’s name.
Real-money deposits and winnings can be withdrawn when deposited funds have cleared, required identity and anti-money laundering checks have been completed, and there is no ongoing investigation involving the account or its bets.

This guide covers MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money withdrawals, account checks, withdrawal charges, Uganda withholding tax, transaction records and common withdrawal problems.
Cash and cheque withdrawals are not supported.
betPawa Withdrawal Methods in Uganda
betPawa Uganda uses MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money for Mobile Money transactions.
The payment method used for a withdrawal must belong to the same natural person who registered the betPawa account. Using a payment method registered under another person’s name is prohibited.
MTN Mobile Money Withdrawals
MTN Mobile Money withdrawals carry a 1.5% withdrawal fee.
To withdraw:
- Log in to the betPawa Uganda account.
- Open Withdraw.
- Select MTN Mobile Money.
- Enter the withdrawal amount.
- Check the Mobile Money details.
- Submit the request.
- Open Statements to follow the transaction record.
The MTN wallet must belong to the registered account holder.
Do not submit another withdrawal simply because the wallet credit has not appeared yet. Check the original withdrawal in Statements first.
Airtel Money Withdrawals
Airtel Money withdrawals carry a 1.0% withdrawal fee.
The process is:
- Log in.
- Open Withdraw.
- Select Airtel Money.
- Enter the amount.
- Check the payment details.
- Submit the withdrawal.
- Review the transaction through Statements.
The Airtel Money wallet must be held in the registered customer’s name.
Making a Withdrawal from Your betPawa Account
A betPawa withdrawal follows this sequence:
- Sign in to the Uganda account.
- Open Withdraw from the account area.
- Select MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money.
- Enter the amount.
- Review the Mobile Money destination.
- Complete any identity or account check requested for the transaction.
- Submit the withdrawal.
- Open Account and select Statements to review the transaction.
Statements contains recent account transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and bet winnings.
Avoid submitting a duplicate withdrawal while the original transaction is still being processed.

Activity can be suspended or limited until requested information has been provided.
Do not open another account to bypass a withdrawal or verification problem.
Charges and Tax on betPawa Withdrawals
Withdrawal fees and withholding tax are separate deductions.
MTN Mobile Money withdrawals currently carry a 1.5% fee, while Airtel Money withdrawals carry a 1.0% fee.
Uganda withholding tax applies to net betting and gaming winnings rather than to the withdrawal amount itself.

For example, a UGX 100,000 withdrawal subject to a 1.5% MTN fee produces a UGX 1,500 fee.
A UGX 100,000 withdrawal subject to a 1.0% Airtel fee produces a UGX 1,000 fee.
These payment charges are separate from withholding tax on winnings.
Uganda Withholding Tax on Winnings
Uganda applies a 15% withholding tax to net winnings from betting and gaming.
Net winnings are:
Payout – stake = net winnings
For example:
- Stake: UGX 10,000
- Payout: UGX 100,000
- Net winnings: UGX 90,000
- 15% withholding tax: UGX 13,500
The tax applies to the UGX 90,000 net win, not to the original UGX 10,000 stake.
The tax is withheld from applicable winnings. It is not a 15% tax imposed simply because money is being withdrawn from the account.
The current rules apply from July 1, 2026.
Withdrawal Timing and Account Statements
Withdrawal records can be reviewed through Statements.
To check a withdrawal:
- Open the Account menu.
- Select Statements.
- Locate the withdrawal transaction.
- Compare the amount with the corresponding MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money wallet activity.
Statements also contains deposits and bet winnings.
Do not create another withdrawal to test whether the first one is working.
For a withdrawal problem that cannot be resolved from Statements, Request a Call is available through Help. Select Withdrawal as the reason for the request. The callback service gives an expected response time of 0 to 5 minutes.

Failed or Rejected Withdrawal Requests
Check the account before submitting another request.
A withdrawal can be restricted when:
- Deposited funds have not cleared.
- A deposit was reversed, cancelled or charged back.
- Identity or AML verification remains incomplete.
- An account or bet is under investigation.
- The payment method belongs to another person.
Correct the relevant issue before submitting another withdrawal.
If the cause is still unclear, open Help and request a callback for Withdrawal.
Completed Withdrawal Not Showing in Mobile Money
Check both records:
- Open Statements and locate the withdrawal.
- Check the amount and transaction details.
- Open the MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money transaction history.
- Look for the corresponding wallet credit.
If the account record and Mobile Money record still do not match, keep the withdrawal details and request support for that transaction.
Do not place another withdrawal simply to test whether the wallet is working.
App
Withdrawals can be managed through betPawa’s mobile access options.
Android users can use the betPawa Android app. The APK is 1.85 MB and requires Android 5.0 or later.
iPhone users can use the native betPawa Sports Betting app from pawaTech OU. It requires iOS 12.4 or later.
The mobile website provides another route without installing an app.
The same registered betPawa account and withdrawal requirements apply across these access methods.
FAQ
Is betPawa Cashout the same as a withdrawal?
Cashout settles an eligible sports bet before its normal conclusion at the value offered for that bet. A withdrawal transfers eligible money from the betPawa account to a payment method such as MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money. Cashout changes a bet, while withdrawal moves account funds.
Can I withdraw betPawa Real Cashback immediately?
The current 15% Casino Cashback is paid as real Casino cash and can be withdrawn immediately after it is credited. There is no wagering requirement. Cashback is credited by the end of the following Friday for the Friday-to-Thursday Cashback week.
What happens to my balance if I close my betPawa account?
Remaining account funds are refunded when the account is terminated unless the terms allow payment to be withheld. Open bets on events that have not yet taken place must be Cashed Out before termination or the funds are forfeited. Those bets are not carried forward after account termination.
Can I withdraw money while my betPawa account is suspended?
Funds cannot be withdrawn while an account is temporarily suspended. The remaining balance stays in the account but remains inaccessible until the suspension ends. When an account is suspended during an investigation, the balance stays on hold until the investigation is completed.
What happens to money left in a dormant betPawa account?
An account becomes dormant after 12 consecutive months without a deposit, withdrawal or bet. betPawa can apply a monthly administration fee or terminate the dormant account. Within 30 working days after dormancy begins, betPawa can attempt to return the outstanding balance to the nominated bank account or Mobile Money wallet. The return is made to the last registered payment account in the customer’s name when payment is possible.
