Existing account holders can deposit on betPawa Uganda through MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money. The payment method must belong to the same person who owns the betPawa account.
MTN deposits start from UGX 500 and can reach UGX 5,000,000 per transaction. Deposits can be started from the account Deposit page or through Mobile Money USSD.

The betPawa deposit process in Uganda uses MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money.
MTN users can deposit through the account or through *165#. Airtel users can use the account Deposit page or the Airtel Money route beginning with *185*5*3*1#.
Cash and cheque deposits are not accepted.
After completing a payment, check the account balance and Statements before making another deposit.

MTN deposits made through the account are credited after the Mobile Money approval is completed.
Mobile Money providers can apply transaction charges. These charges are separate from the amount credited to the betPawa account.
Before Making a betPawa Deposit
Use a Mobile Money wallet in your own name, allow enough balance for any provider charge and set a monthly deposit limit before repeated account funding.
Using a Mobile Money Wallet in Your Own Name
The Mobile Money wallet used for deposits must be registered in the account holder’s name.
betPawa does not allow:
- Deposits from another person’s payment method
- Deposits from a business account
- A Mobile Money wallet registered under a different name
- Credit-based payment methods
- Stolen, cloned or unauthorised payment methods
The account and payment method should therefore belong to the same person.
Allowing for Mobile Money Provider Charges
Mobile Money providers can charge separately for deposit transactions.
For an MTN deposit, keep more money in the wallet than the amount being deposited when a provider charge applies.
For example, if UGX 10,000 is being deposited and the Mobile Money payment screen shows an additional charge, the wallet must contain enough money for both the UGX 10,000 deposit and that charge.

Setting a Monthly Deposit Limit
betPawa Uganda includes a Monthly Deposit Limit.
The feature allows users to:
- Set a personal monthly deposit limit
- Track progress against the limit
- Receive a reminder when the limit is reached
- Change the limit
- Remove the limit
- Reset the limit
The limit refreshes automatically each month.
Set the amount according to money available for entertainment after essential expenses rather than expected betting winnings.
How to Deposit Money on betPawa
Deposits can be started from the account Deposit page or through the Mobile Money provider.
Depositing from the betPawa Deposit Page
- Log in to the Uganda account.
- Open Deposit.
- Select MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money.
- Enter the deposit amount.
- Select Deposit.
- Wait for the approval request on the registered phone.
- Check the amount before approving the Mobile Money request.
- Enter the Mobile Money PIN through the provider prompt.
- Return to betPawa and check the account balance.
For MTN, the available deposit range is UGX 500 to UGX 5,000,000.
The approved MTN deposit is credited to the betting account immediately.
Depositing via MTN Mobile Money USSD
MTN deposits can also be made through Goods and Services.
- Dial *165#.
- Select 4 Payments.
- Select 4 Goods and Services.
- Enter Merchant Code BETPAWA.
- Enter Payment Reference PAWA.
- Enter the deposit amount. The minimum is UGX 500.
- Check the transaction details.
- Enter the MTN Mobile Money PIN.
- Wait for the confirmation message containing the transaction ID.
- Check the betPawa balance and Statements.
The wallet must contain enough money for the deposit and any MTN transaction charge applied to the payment.
Depositing via Airtel Money USSD
Airtel Money users can start the betting payment route with:

Then:
- Follow the Airtel Money payment prompts.
- Select betPawa when required.
- Enter the deposit amount.
- Review the payment details.
- Enter the Airtel Money PIN.
- Wait for the Airtel confirmation message.
- Check the betPawa balance and Statements.
Do not repeat the deposit if the Airtel wallet has already been debited. Check the first transaction before submitting another payment.
Checking Your Deposit and Transaction History
The current account balance appears in the top-right corner after login.
To check the deposit history:
- Open the Account menu.
- Select Statements.
- Find the deposit transaction.
- Compare it with the MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money confirmation.
- Check the account balance separately.
Statements contains recent:
- Deposits
- Withdrawals
- Bet winnings
Keep the Mobile Money transaction ID until the payment appears correctly in both the wallet record and betPawa account.
If the balance or transaction does not appear correctly, refresh the page or log out and log in again.
betPawa Deposit Problems and Their Solutions
First establish whether the Mobile Money payment was never approved or whether the wallet was debited but the betPawa balance did not change.
Payment Request Doesn’t Arrive or Is Declined
If the Mobile Money approval request does not arrive:
- Check that the correct MTN or Airtel method was selected.
- Check the phone number associated with the account.
- Confirm that the phone has an active Mobile Money service.
- Check the wallet balance.
- Check whether an earlier payment is already recorded in Statements.
For MTN, the wallet must contain enough money for the deposit amount and any provider charge.
Do not repeatedly submit the same payment request while the status of the first one remains unclear.
Mobile Money Is Debited but the betPawa Balance Doesn’t Update
If MTN or Airtel deducts the money but the betPawa balance does not change:
- Keep the Mobile Money confirmation message.
- Keep the transaction ID.
- Open Account.
- Select Statements.
- Check whether the deposit appears there.
- Compare the amount and transaction time with the Mobile Money record.
Do not make a second deposit to replace the missing one.
For additional help, use Request a Call and select Deposit as the reason. The callback service displays an expected waiting time of 0 to 5 minutes.
FAQ
Can betPawa request identity verification when I make a deposit?
betPawa can verify the account holder’s identity after receiving a deposit request and can conduct further identity or AML checks later. Additional information relating to deposits can also be requested. Use accurate account information and a Mobile Money wallet registered in your own name.
Can I deposit cash or by cheque?
betPawa Uganda does not accept deposits by cash or cheque. Account funding uses the available electronic payment methods, including MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money.
Does making a deposit automatically qualify for a bonus?
A deposit does not currently trigger a standard Uganda Deposit Bonus or Welcome Bonus. The active Win Bonus applies to qualifying Sports and betPawa Virtuals multi-bets with at least three legs and odds of 1.20 or higher per selection. Casino Cashback is calculated from eligible Casino betting activity. Neither promotion is activated simply by depositing money.
Can betPawa correct a deposit that was recorded with the wrong amount?
Check the Mobile Money confirmation and the deposit entry under Account > Statements. Keep the transaction ID, amount and payment time. If the wallet record and betPawa entry do not match, use Request a Call and select Deposit. Do not submit another payment to compensate for the difference.
Can I make a betPawa deposit on credit?
Credit-based account funding is prohibited. betPawa does not provide credit facilities and does not allow the account balance to go into overdraft. Credit cards and other credit-based payment methods cannot be used as a source of account funds.
