Joining betPawa in Uganda

Registration

Creating an account begins with entering accurate information into the betPawa Uganda registration form. Prepare the phone number you intend to associate with the account, your first and last name, location, nationality and National Identification Number, commonly called a NIN. The registration form also requires a 4-digit password.

The phone number is entered without the +256 country code. Each account is uniquely linked to one telephone number, and each customer may register only one account.

New account holders provide their login details, personal information and NIN during registration. Additional identity verification can be requested later.

Account creation covers the phone number, password, personal information and NIN.

Setting Up Your Login Details

Begin with the phone number and password:

  1. Select Join Now.
  2. Enter the Ugandan mobile number without +256. For example, enter 123456789 rather than +256123456789.
  3. Create a 4-digit password.
  4. Keep the password private because it will be used for future login.

The account becomes uniquely associated with the telephone number used during registration.

Completing Your Personal Information

Complete the remaining personal fields:

  1. Enter your First Name.
  2. Enter your Last Name.
  3. Select your Location.

  3. Dial *216# if you need to check the NIN associated with the phone you are using.

Compare the result with the NIN entered during registration.

Before submitting:

  • Check every NIN character.
  • Check the first and last name.
  • Check the phone number.
  • Correct typing errors before trying again.

Do not replace a correct NIN with another person’s number to bypass a registration problem.

Why Your Identity Details Need to Match

Registration information must be accurate and complete.

Incorrect details can cause problems during identity verification and can result in account closure.

The registration form collects:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Location
  • Nationality
  • National Identification Number

Use the same genuine identity information throughout the account process rather than submitting alternative versions after an error.

Verification After Registration

Additional identity verification can be required after registration.

Verification can include requests for:

  • Passport
  • Identification document
  • Proof of address
  • Utility bill
  • Financial details
  • Information relating to deposits

Account activity can be suspended or limited until requested information has been provided.

Do not create another account to avoid an identity check. Each customer is limited to one account.

FAQ

Do I need an email address to register?

Email is not required in the Uganda Join Now form. Registration uses a mobile number, 4-digit password, first name, last name, location, nationality and NIN.

Do I need to deposit money to complete registration?

A deposit is not part of the account creation sequence. Complete the registration fields and select Join Now first. Deposits are separate account transactions made after registration.

Does betPawa require an SMS code during sign-up?

The standard registration sequence does not include an SMS verification code. Registration uses the phone number, 4-digit password, personal details and NIN. Verification codes are used during password recovery, where a code is requested and entered before a new password is created.

Can I register with a phone number that isn’t in my name?

Registration links the account uniquely to the telephone number entered during sign-up. The account must remain under the registered customer’s control and cannot be transferred or made available for another person to use. Payouts must also go to the same natural person who registered and owns the account.

Can I create a betPawa account while outside Uganda?

The Uganda registration process is designed for Uganda accounts and uses a +256 mobile number together with a National Identification Number. It does not provide a separate cross-border registration process. Use genuine location and identity information and do not change personal details to bypass regional restrictions.
